3 Feet to Success
©2001 by Tyrannus Rolle

If your business opportunity requires you to recruit others to become successful, you will need all the fresh prospects you can find. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in marketing online that we ignore a wealth of potential prospects we encounter in the real world every day. You can increase your marketing efforts if you make it a point to apply the 3 foot rule. Talk to everyone that comes within 3 feet of you about your offering. You would be amazed at how many people you can approach about your product or opportunity in the
course of a day. The key objective is to create curiosity. You are not trying to sell them on the spot. Your focus should be to get an email address so you can follow up. Pick one or two of these examples and use them until they become natural for you.

Always be prepared. Carry a pen and paper everywhere you go.

1) The I'm in a New Business Approach

Someone has asked you: "What do you do for a living? Or What's new and exciting with you?" You reply: Actually, I've started an internet business. I market (say your product or service here). It's fabulous! I'd love to tell you all about it some time, but right now I've got to run.
Give me your email and I'll send you some info.

2) The Right Thing Approach

You ask: If the right thing came along, and I mean it was really the right opportunity for you, would you have an interest increasing your income? (Let them respond) Do you have a computer? Great! Give me your email and I'll send you some info.

3) The Strapped for Cash/Need Second Income Approach

When someone complains about working two jobs or being strapped for cash you say: You know we were the same way. I was even thinking about getting a second job to help our budget. I decided to start an internet business instead. I know lots of people who developed a second income in a very short time. Our income is already starting to grow. It's really easier than getting another job. Give me your email
and I'll send you some info.

4) The Stay at Home Parent Approach

If both parents work you say: It's getting tougher and tougher to get by with just one income isn't it? We want  one of us to be able to stay home with the kids. We just   started an internet business that lets us work at home  and earn a second income. Give me your email and I'll send  you some info.

5) The Direct Approach

With this approach you start off by saying:

If I could show you how to...

Then you can say anything to match what may interest your prospect:

Make an extra $2000 a month without leaving your current job, would you be interested? Get a new car, would you be interested?
Stay at home with the kids, would you be interested?  Put my kids through college, would you be interested?  Retire in 5 years, would you be interested? Etc.

Great! Give me your email and I'll send you some info.

Once you get someone's email address be sure to add them to your follow up autoresponder within 48 hrs. These are very good prospects because you have created some rapport and they will be expecting your information.
